At Hudaybiyah, after the treaty was agreed between the Muslims and the Polytheists and the Prophet (may Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) was prevented from performing ‘umrah (lesser pilgrimage) and ṭawāf (circumambulation of the Ka‘bah), ‘Umar said to the Prophet (may Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him), “Are you not truly the Prophet of Allāh?” He said, “I am” So, ‘Umar said, “Isn’t our religion the truth and theirs false?” He said, “It is.” So, ‘Umar said, “So why are we disgracing our religion?” [Reported by Al Bukhārī]
