It is mention in Ṣaḥīḥ Al Bukhārī in the chapter entitled “Praying in Churches” that `Umar (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, “We do not enter your churches because of the statues and images, and Ibn ‘Abbās would pray in churches unless they contained statues” [Reported by Bukhārī with part of the chain of narration not mentioned]
