It was narrated from Anas Ibn Mālik (may Allāh be pleased with him) that, “Allāh’s Messenger (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) said, “When I begin praying, I intend to make it long. Then I hear a child crying, so I make it short because of how difficult it is for his mother”” [Reported by Bukhārī: 710].
