Āyāt (verses) in which there is mention of the Sabbath (Saturday)

Allāh the Most High says (translation of the meaning): You certainly know those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday). We said to them: “Be monkeys, despised and rejected.” The tafsīr (exegesis) of this noble Āyah (verse) is: You (Jews) know - what happened to your ancestors from the town whose inhabitants disobeyed Allāh when Allāh had ordained for them to honour the Sabbath. They did a tricked to fish on Saturday, by setting nets and digging pools, then they caught them on Sunday. This was a trick that they used to do something prohibited. Because they did that, Allāh transformed them into outcast monkeys. [Al-Tafsīr Al-Muyassar (Simple Exegesis)]

The time for the night prayer and witr

Ibn Naṣr said: “The people of knowledge are in agreement that the time between the ‘ishā` prayer and the beginning of fajr is the time for witr. It was narrated from the Prophet (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) that he said to pray witr before fajr begins. [Mukhtaṣar Qiyām Al-Layl, p. 119] It was also narrated from Jābir (may Allāh be pleased with him) that Allāh’s Messenger (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) said: If somebody fears that he will not get up in the last part of the night, he is to pray witr in the first part of the night. If he expects to get up in the last part of the night, he is to pray witr in the last part of the night. That is because prayer in the last part of the night is witnessed. [Reported by Muslim (755)]

One of the benefits of dhikr (remembrance of Allāh): obtaining the Prophet’s (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) intercession

Jābir (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) said, "Whoever after listening to the adhān says, “O Allāh! Lord of this perfect call and of the regular prayer about to be established, give Muḥammad the right of intercession and illustriousness, and resurrect him to the best and the highest place in Paradise - that which You promised him”, my intercession will be allowed for him on the Day of Resurrection". [Reported by Al Bukhārī]

One of the benefits of having concern for the adhān (call to prayer)

Mu‘āwiyah (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, “ I heard the Messenger of Allāh (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) say, “ The Muezzins will have the longest necks on the day of Resurrection””. [Reported by Al Imām Muslim]

One of the benefits of taking care over dhikr (remembrance of Allāh) is the eight doors of Paradise being opened.

The Messenger of Allāh (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) said, “Whenever any of you performs his wuḍū` (ablution) well then says “I testify that there is none worthy of worship other than Allāh, alone with no partners, and I testify that Muḥammad is His Slave and Messenger”, the eight doors of Paradise are opened for him and he will enter via whichever of them he wishes.” [Reported by Al Imām Muslim]
