It was narrated from ‘Uthmān Ibn ‘Affān (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allāh (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) said, “When a Muslim – or believing – slave performs wuḍū, when he washes his face (as part of wuḍū), every sin that he committed with his eyes will be washed away from his face with the water, or with the last drop of water. When he washes his hands, every sin that he committed with his hands will be removed from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water. When he washes his feet, every sin his feet took him to will be washed away with the water, or with the last drop of water; until he finally emerges purified of all his sins."
