Abū Bakr took part in the Battle of Uḥud and remained steadfast and firm with Allāh’s Messenger (may Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him). His son ‘Abdul Raḥmān, who was in the ranks of the Polytheists, said to him, “I saw you on the Day of Uḥud so I left you alone and did not attack you.” So Abū Bakr said to him, “Had I seen you, I would not have spared you.” [Siyar Al Khulafā` Al Rāshidīn, p.12]
