The sunnah (desirable) actions in prayer:

Raising one’s hands when saying the opening Takbīrah (Allāhu Akbar), when going into rukū’ (bowing) and when coming out of rukū’ and putting them down after that; This is because Mālik Ibn Al Ḥuwayrith used to say Allāhu Akbar and raise his hands. When he intended to go into rukū’ (bowing), he would raise his hands. When he raised his head from rukū’ (bowing), he would raise his hands. He also reported that the Prophet (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) did the same. He put his right hand on his left and put them on his chest while he was standing. He would fix his sight on the place where he prostrated, and separate his feet while standing. He would clasp his knees with his fingers spread while in rukū’ (bowing), with his back spread out, and would put his head forward [Imam Muslim 391].
