. The evidence for this is in the ḥadīth (narration) of ‘Ā’ishah that when the Prophet (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) was in a state of janābah and wanted to sleep, he would perform wuḍū
as he would for prayer before sleeping [Reported by Imam Muslim: 305]. (ablution) is desirable: Before ghusl (bathing). The evidence for this is the ḥadīth (narration) of ‘Ā
ishah (may Allāh Be Pleased with her) in which she said that “when the Messenger of Allāh (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) performed ghusl due to being in a state of major ritual impurity, he would begin by washing his hands and would then use his right hand to pour water onto his left and wash his private parts. Bin ‘Āzib (may Allāh be pleased with him) in which he said, “The Prophet (May Allāh praise him and Peace be upon him) said, “When you go to bed, perform wuḍū` like you do for Ṣalāt (prayer), then lie on your right hand side””. [Reported by Imam Bukhārī: 247]Support
