Sheikh Fawzān (may Allāh preserve him) said:

First: He makes his intention in his heart

Second: He says “Bismillāh” (in the Name of Allāh), washes his hands three times and washes his genitals.

Third: He performs complete wuḍū` (ablution).

Fourth: He pours water on his head three times and makes the water reach the roots of the hair.

Fifth: He ensures that water reaches his whole body and rubs his body with his hands [Al Mulakhkhaṣ Al Fiqhī (Summary of Islamic Jurisprudence) p. 45 (Arabic version)].
